Located at 28 Nguyen Tat Thanh, Hoi An, about 2 km from the center of the old town, Hoi An Silk Village is a place to demonstrate silkworm farming, silk nursery, and silk weaving with the desire to honor the quintessential traditional craft of Quang Nam province. Hoi An Silk Village is considered as a museum of mulberry varieties, silkworms and the weaving process of Champa - Dai Viet. This place also preserves precious genetic resources of mulberry, silkworm varieties, searching for ancient mulberry roots left in the forest that have never been crossed with modern mulberry varieties. Here, the ancient looms still weave these pure silks. Coming to the Silk Village, visitors can hand-pick mulberries from the garden to feed the silkworms, wear traditional silk clothes to walk around the village, listen to the sweet singing of country girls picking mulberries, enjoy the rustic delicacies of Quang cuisine, learn how to choose good silk. There is also a gallery with a collection of 100 traditional Vietnamese silk dresses(áo dài). View more
