Chuc Thanh Pagoda, which is located in Tan An ward, Hoi An city, dating back to more than 300 years, has long been listed as a monument of Quang Nam province and considered the ancestral home of the Lam Te Chuc Thanh Buddhist sect in Dang Trong (Inner Circuit), Vietnam. The pagoda was associated with the life of Zen Master Minh Hai, who was instrumental in spreading and establishing the Lam Te Chuc Thanh sect in Hoi An, Dang Trong in the late 17th century. The pagoda faces to the southwest. It is nestled under the old tree’ canopies, with a majestic and ancient appearance. The work has the architecture of the letter 三 (sān) in Chinese - the common architectural style of the pagodas in Vietnam, a combination of typical sculptures and carvings of Vietnamese and Chinese cultures, as well. The pagoda has a system of worshiping statues that are carved meticulously and delicately and are worthy of beautiful works of art.
