Phung Hung old house, which is about 10 meters west of the Japanese covered bridge, is one of the most famous architectural buildings of Hoi An. Now it is located at 4 Nguyen Thi Minh Khai street, Hoi An. The house was built more than 100 years ago as a place to live for successive generations of the same family. This relic was used both as a house and a trading place named “Phung Hung” in the past. The building was built with good wood material, not sculpted and carved elaborately, but intentionally kept original. With the interference of Vietnamese-Japanese-Chinese architectural styles, this old house is considered to be a house with a unique structure, a high wooden attic and surrounding wide corridors. Thanks to the good preservation and maintenance of the family, the house is still kept almost in its original state. As a relic containing a lot of information about the lifestyle of the merchant classes in the ancient commercial port of Hoi An, Phung Hung old house was recognized as a national historical and cultural relic in 1993.
