Đế Võng village was established during the reign of King Cảnh Trị - Lê Dynasty, in the second half of the 17th century, in the migration waves of residents from the North and North - Central region to Quảng Nam. Đế Võng Communal House, currently located in Sơn Phô 1 block, Cẩm Châu ward, Hội An city, was built right after the establishment of the village. The communal house which has a total area of about 600m2, the façade facing southwest, is a sacred place to worship the ancestors, the tutelary God, the spirits and the Goddess of water, in which the main god were Đại Càn. Generally, Đế Võng communal house is a building consisting of many parts such as the three-arched-entrances gate, the East house, the West house, the main hall, and the shrine. The main hall is a construction with 3 compartments and 2 lean-tos, yin and yang tiled roofs. Decoration in the communal house is quite lively, the main hall is decorated with 4 horizontal lacquered board sand 2 pairs of parallel sentences painted in red with yellow letters, go along with altars painted with dragon, flower, and bat patterns. Every year, the communal house organizes the rite of Spring to worship the ancestors, the spirit and others gods on 15th & 16th of the first lunar month, this is the largest sacrifice of the village, and all villagers gather here to perform rituals and sacrifices. Đế Võng communal house was ranked as a national historical and cultural relic in 1991.
