Trieu Chau Assembly Hall, also known as Am Bon Pagoda, is located at 157 Nguyen Duy Hieu. Trieu Chau Assembly Hall was built as a place for community activities and beliefs of Chaozhou people in Hoi An and surrounding areas by overseas Chinese of Chaozhou state in 1845 .   This religious building worships the gods who tame the waves and storm, thereby praying for smooth sailing and trading on the sea. The monument is structured in the style of the word 国 (guó) in Chinese  with three parts: front yard, courtyard and the main hallwhich faces south and has a finely carved wooden frame with motifs and decorations according to folk legends and beautiful porcelain embossed works. Trieu Chau Assembly Hall is one of the assembly halls in Hoi An with special value in terms of structure and architecture, proving the exchange between the residents in Hoi An in the past. It is one of the three relics in Hoi An that was ranked as a typical ancient relic of Vietnam by the French School of the Far East (EFEO). View more
