Located at 350 Nguyen Duy Hieu Street, Son Phong Ward, Hoi An City, Son Phong communal house is a valuable historical and architectural relic that has been recognized as a national relic by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in 1991.  The communal house was built by local workers and restored by later generations to be used as a place to worship Tutelary God, the gods of rivers, in which the main gods were Dai Can, Thien - Y - A - Na, the ancestors and people of great merit of the village. The communal house is the symbol of the union of several villages including Dai An, Mau Tai, Phong Nien and a part of Son Pho. From this merger, the village and communal house got a new name, Son Phong. Legend has it that the village has a tradition of providing services in commercial activities and maintaining the safety of the city, so Lord Nguyen Phuc Chu awarded them the title " Cuu nhan do the" (Save the world and assist people). In addition to the plaque given by Lord Nguyen Phuc Chu, Son Phong communal house today also preserves many valuable ordinations bestowed by the Nguyen kings.
